Earth Day!

Here, in the CCDS Nature room, every day really is Earth Day.  I feel so lucky to work in a place that teaches respect for the Earth and all of the creatures that live on it.  I asked the kids a simple question:  What is Earth Day?  Here are a few of their answers...

"It's a day when we celebrate the Earth and pick up trash so people don't hurt their toes."

"It's the Earth's birthday - it's 154 years old."

"We celebrate the Earth and clean up everything that other people drop."

"Water keeps the birds happy.  We should keep the water clean."

"We should plant things in the garden on Earth Day.  The fox can live their because he is so beautiful."

"Snakes protect the Earth by saving their babies."

"When you plant flowers, it helps the Earth grow."

"It's when we pick up the trash so animals don't get stuck in it."

We also created an art project to celebrate.  Come visit the Nature Room to see all of our Earth Day projects.  If you can't make it in, here are a few of my favorites for you to view.

Happy Earth Day to all!!!
